Now the infections of the eye are the same as those of the body - the viruses, the bacteria, the fungi, and the parasites.
We generally talk of the eye infections (1) by their location, or/and (2) by the agent of infection.
Doctors recognize infections from their appearance. Or they can get a medical culture done if there is a pus or discharge from the eye.
Most bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections are treatable by their anti medication.
But there are a few that are quite obstinate.
Histoplasma is one that doesn't even get detected, what to say of getting treated! It sits behind the retina and attacks the macula resulting in macular degeneration. We can only cauterize it with a laser that at best slows down its degeneration. The cauterization has to be kept getting repeated. Also the damage already done is beyond repair.
Same way herpes simplex can't be eradicated from the body.
Infections of the eye that have their origin elsewhere in the body, need to be treated at the place of their origin first, i.e., the total body needs the treatment and not just the eyes. Examples are tuberculosis, syphilis, toxoplasmosis etc.
Quite a few eye infections are in fact the outcome of sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, crab lice, herpes simplex, thrush, hepatitis B etc.
So there is no alternative to observing safe sexual practices, if you want to keep these eye infections at bay. In case you already have one of these diseases, make it a point to keep your hands clean and away from your eyes. Take this precaution even if you have cold sores, shingles, chickenpox, measles, mumps, flu, common cold, etc. too!
If you wear contact lenses, keep them clean and don't let them carry infection.
Avoid getting scratched on the eye by organic matter like tree branches or twigs. You may end up catching a fungal eye infection.
Also avoid catching eye infection of a member of your family through using her/his linen or towel.
Cosmetics may be a source of re-infection, so avoid them temporarily, in case you have eye problems.
That means we have to live our life in quite a skeptically cautious way keeping and making each and every move of ours perfectly safe and secure every time!
No fun in life!
No letting go!
Bore!
But no, there is a way out. Read these lines by Dr. W.H.Bates:
'Inflammatory conditions of all kinds, including inflammation of the cornea, iris, conjunctiva, the various coats of the eyeball and even the optic nerve itself, have been benefited by central fixation after other methods had failed.'
'Infections, as well as diseases caused by protein poisoning and the poisons of typhoid fever, influenza, syphilis and gonorrhea, have also been benefited by it.'
'Even with a foreign body in the eye there is no redness and no pain so long as central fixation is retained.'
This central fixation seems to be a magic wand!
Yes, it is.
It's exactly what third eye opening is. Once the third eye is opened; immunity against infection, of course including eye infections, is increased manifolds. Vision therapy trains you for that only, training your eyes to train your body as well as to train your mind!
