Eye Problems

Common Eye Disorders

A closed third eye chakra falls prey to all eye problems...

eyes

I love life without problems.

My eyes follow suit and they too love life without eye problems!

We both join hands and dare looking into those eye problems so as to find a solution.

Shall we?

Will you? ....join hands with us?

Okay, let's go into them.

There are people who are colorblind. Color blindness is the inability to perceive differences between some or all colors that the general masses can.

Crossed eyes or strabismus is a condition in which the two eyes are not able to align simultaneously in order to see one single image of an object.

Twitching eye or spasm around the eyes with or without facial spasm is known as eye twitching and is a very irritating eye problem.

Nystagmus refers to rapid eye movement side to side, up and down or rotary.

A swollen eye is not a disorder in itself, rather an indication of another deep-rooted eye problem.

Among symptoms of eye infection are eye pain, foreign body sensation, photophobia, discharge, redness, sore, fever and blurred vision.

When blood vessels in the eye are enlarged and dilated, they give an appearance of the color red on the white (sclera) of the eye. That's what a red eye is.

Lack of sleep, vitamin deficiencies, sickness, hyperpigmentation, excessive vascularization and visible blood vessels cause dark under eye circles.

On waking up, eyes may be swollen, itchy and crusty due to clear or yellowish eye discharge having more than one reason.

Small specks or clouds moving in the field of vision are called eye floaters. They are merely annoying but generally harmless.

A fungus named fusarium can infect the eye. This eye fungus causes pain, redness, light sensitivity, blurred vision, discharge and lesions; and may end up in permanent eye damage if ignored.

There can be various eye infections ranging from bacterial to viral to fungal ones that are to be treated likewise.

There can be different kinds of eye injuries too e.g. scratches, cuts, foreign bodies, burns, chemicals or blows to the eye and are to be treated likewise.

An irritant in the eye like shampoo, smoke, smog, chlorine etc. causes eye irritation and often goes by washing.

There may be emergencies like contact lens stuck in eye that have to be dealt in a proper way.

A common reason to consult an ophthalmologist is an eye pain that may be there due to a host of reasons and being pathological in nature, is one of the biggest causes of concern among all the eye problems.

Vision problems may be indicated through many symptoms including an excessive eye rubbing symptom.

An eye stye (eye sty) is a bacterial infection infecting a tiny gland at the base of the eyelid hair resulting in inflammation, swelling, redness, itching and pain.

Tiny blood vessels bleeding in any part of the eye cause eye hemorrhage.

If a small blood vessel in the white of the eye has broken and bled, it shows as blood in eye.

A chronic lack of proper lubrication in the eye results in dry eye syndrome that supposedly has no official treatment to it. Dry eye symptoms include permanent dryness, scratching and burning in the eyes.

Sjögren's syndrome - a chronic, multi-organ, autoimmune disorder sometimes causes quite severe dry eye too.

There is a common eye problem of going for refractive surgery and dry eye resulting from it, which is very discomforting. Dry eye after LASIK is a rule rather than a probability. When it comes to contacts, contact lens and dry eye go hand in hand too.

Eye overreacting to a substance that it considers (!) to be harmful though it is not, results in eye allergies. Our unconscious genetic stupidities!

The eye problems mentioned above do not present us with a very dismal picture of the state of affairs that the eye is undergoing. Alternative vision research does seem to have an optimistic prognosis of all these minor eye problems and hence vision therapy deserves a fair try to it.
