Eye Stye (Eye Sty)

Bumps on the Eye

eyes

An eye stye (eye sty) is such a nuisance, it makes you get irritated on each and every thing around!

Just on the edge of your eyelid, where the lash meets the lid; you find a red, swollen bump looking like a pimple developing over a period of time that may heal on its own, in case it doesn't go bad and turn into a chalazion.

It pains to touch it!

An eye stye (eye sty) is caused by bacteria entering into the hair follicle of the eyelash containing oil glands that become inflamed from the bacteria.

Blepharitis may also help an eye stye (eye sty) to develop.

An eye stye (eye sty), if it doesn't heal, may turn into a chalazion fully blocking the inflamed oil gland and also causing trouble with vision.

There are some other kinds of bumps on the eyelid also:

  • Xanthelasma: are the raised yellow patches on the eyelids owing to high cholesterol with growing age.

  • Papillomas: are the pink or skin colored bumps which feel bad to look at. They can also affect the vision, if they grow unabated. You can surgically get them removed.

  • Cysts: are small fluid-filled sacs that may affect the vision.

An eye stye (eye sty) can also produce the sensations of the tearing of the eye, a foreign body in the eye, and sensitivity to light along with its red, swollen bump on the eyelid!

Warm compresses help in treating an eye sty (eye stye) or a chalazion.

But squeezing turns them into a bad shape, spreading the infection to other eyelash follicles or even the tissue of the eyelid (eyelid cellulitis)!

If an eye stye (eye sty) becomes recurrent or persistent, antibiotic creams may be tried.

But if it turns large enough, it must be lanced to drain the infection.

However, the best way out, to ward-off as well as keep all the kinds of eye infections at bay, is to open the third eye and attain the central fixation of the eye through vision therapy.

I'll reproduce the words of Dr. W.H.Bates below for your perusal:

"Inflammatory conditions of all kinds, including inflammation of the cornea, iris, conjunctiva, the various coats of the eyeball and even the optic nerve itself, have been benefited by central fixation after other methods had failed."

"Infections, as well as diseases caused by protein poisoning and the poisons of typhoid fever, influenza, syphilis and gonorrhea, have also been benefited by it."

"Even with a foreign body in the eye there is no redness and no pain so long as central fixation is retained."
