A New Journey

Let us give a temporary break to our side journey, so far up to here; and move back to the main highway we were treading upon.

There was no particular word that I got on this side-topic (as I had invited it from you), so I have decided to postpone further inquiry into this most basic question of physics, mathematics and existence - of space, of time, of force, of motion, of acceleration, of numbers including zero and infinity, of black holes, of white holes, of entropy turning from infinity to zero, and of Big Bang and Big Crunch for a future date in our journey of My Story: My Date with My Body, when people will have built up enough momentum to come along with me on the mankind's journey into the origin of everything that we see and live around!

So, let me be back to the point from where I had taken this diversion in our journey:

"I made a new observation."

"As I was trying to read very fine print at a very short distance from my eyes (Bates had recommended this method for eye health!), I discovered that the eyes needed focusing on it in a totally different way."

"It was not the same as focusing or accommodating eyes for near vision."

"Rather it was the opposite!"

"It was focusing or accommodating eyes for far distance that made them read clear at a distance of less than 6 inches too!"

"To me, it was nothing less than a miracle."

"Nowhere in ophthalmology has it been mentioned even, what to say of discussing the issue!"

"The nearer the distance of my fine print I adjusted, the farther the focus or the accommodation of the eyes I had to maneuver in order to read the fine print crystal clear."

"When the distance got reduced to less than 3 inches, I had to focus or accommodate eyes the way I did while looking at the stars in the sky - crystal clear like pencil dots!"

"Practically a distance called infinity!"

"But, here, on the other end - at less than 3 inches, the distance was going on reducing slowly and gradually approaching zero."

"And the eyes were behaving in exactly the same way for focusing or accommodating for both the distances."

"There was no difference for them in the two distances - infinity and zero, as far as focusing or accommodation was concerned."

"Why so?"

"Our mind takes the two as the two extreme ends of the spectrum of distance - opposite from each other (distance is a scalar quantity, so minus infinity is the same as infinity)."

"But the eyes were telling a different story altogether!"

"For them the two were exactly the same as far as focusing or accommodation was concerned."

"Infinity and zero same!"

"The mind dispels it as crap."

"But the eyes have their own biological intelligence too!"

"The biological intelligence that their need to focus at the two distances imparted them in order to see clear at the both!"

"The biological intelligence can never go wrong."

It was at this point that I had gone on a side-excursion in our journey, into the subtleties of the basic mathematics and physics; but now I am back to the main journey again, and let us proceed with my date with my body further.

It is not easy to read very fine print from a very short distance. The letters in front of your eyes tend to go blurred.

But then, I could read it crystal clear; and as I was doing so, I just glanced at the Snellen chart at quite a distance from my eyes.

And the Snellen chart was all clear to the eyes - every single letter on it!

I moved my sight to the very near fine print again without changing even a bit of my posture or gesture at all - as if I had turned into a statue.

That was clear too!

I again looked far - again clear; and then again very near, and again very clear!

I made it a game.

It was giving a shine to my eyes and a sense of joy to my mind.

It was making me intensely interested in both - very near and very far.

And then happened something, that opened my eyes and my mind to another connection between seeing clear and feeling passionate along with its connotations with the different parts of the human body as well as their positioning and movement during/through various actions of our daily routine.

I'll be starting with this new story the next week, taking you through a new journey into passion that springs from...
