Low Vision

Vision Impairment

eyes

Low vision is a general name given to any and every impairment in vision that affects its performance negatively, and can't be fully corrected by glasses, medicine, eye-drops, or surgery.

Total impairment is named as blindness. Anything less than blindness is called low vision.

Vision is a perceptive field that consists of an angle covering 180 degrees and its acuity in each and every degree of it.

eyes

Angle is extensive whereas acuity is the intensive quality of vision.

Now, what is affected in low vision?

Both.

Or may be only one!

Acuity and/or angle are affected by:

  • Cataract

  • Glaucoma

  • Macular Degeneration

  • Diabetic Retinopathy

  • Retinitis Pigmentosa

  • Amblyopia

  • Corneal Pathology

  • Hemianopia

  • Eye Injuries

Prevention is always the best line of action, since low vision - once it has affected the eye structure permanently - is irreversible by any means.

And the best line of prevention is vision therapy that increases the eye-immunity against eye-diseases by opening the third eye, resulting in improving acuity as well as angle coverage of the eye in a natural way.
