Posting to third eye bloglet - My Story Page 16 - Tired : 5th November, 2006.
The datewise archives of third eye bloglet - My Story : My Date with My Body - about eyes, mind, sex, science, and society turned into web pages. My Story Page 16 makes a real interesting reading:
Why do we get tired?
What is the physiology and/or psychology of getting fatigued?
Why was my temporomandibular joint getting fatigued?
What, in fact, is fatigue?
I was feeling under obligation to answer all these questions to myself only.
I thought.
Then I saw my fatigue.
I sensed it.
Very closely did I sense it with the whole of me turning into the sensation of my fatigue only!
Nothing else was there.
Only I, and my tiredness!
And then even I disappeared.
Only the sensation of tiredness was left, and nothing else was!
And then something miraculous happened!
The tiredness was no more there!
It had just vanished into thin air!
Where had it gone?
I was so fresh, as if I had taken a great Turkish bath after a sound night sleep.
What had physiologically happened to my body?
How did my muscles throw out the toxins that were making them feel fatigued, so instantaneously?
And if it was only a psychological affair concerning my mind only, how was it that my psyche changed in such a revolutionary way in one single second?
Is fatigue physiological essentially or is it only a psychological construct?
Is there somewhere any connection between physiology and psychology anyhow...somehow?
Is there any connection between the body and the mind?
Otherwise how could my real exhaustion have disappeared so absolutely in one single second?
Body does take its time to recoup.
Body lives in space, not in time.
Mind lives in time, not in space.
Which one of these two does the fatigue belong to?
What does physiology say about tiredness?
And what does psychology say about it?
I must look into both in their different pragmatic, basic approaches toward tiredness; and then may be I am able to reach a point that synthesizes them both!
May be!
